Well, how far can you train a player's skill with level 1 facility and coaches.

For example, can I go beyond 10 in a skill with level 1 trainer, if not, what is the limit before I need to start getting level 2?

I think it is lvl 12 or something, but I might be wrong, best is to get yourself upto lvl 3 coaches atleast.

Im not sure what the level 1 or 2 training limits are, probably 12 - 13 for level 1 and 14 - 16 for level 2, if that even, but im really not sure.. the problem with level 1 and 2's is it will take seasons to get to the max rating for the skill and your player will be old by the time he gets there, which is not hat you want. You'll want to look at investing in facility and trainers (lvl3) upgrades, as then you will start to notice decent improvements (18 is max for lvl3) and pops for skills in the 9 - 13 range will come alot quicker compared to level 1 and 2 , but like wise it will take a long time to reach 18 with level 3's. But make sure you can handle the upgrades financially before you upgrade..

I would suggest you go for level 2 upgrades now.. then some time next season when you have a new minor sponsor, maybe a major sponsor if you promote and more members to boost your income get the level 3..

Level 1 - Useless IMO (max - ?)
Level 2 - Useless IMO (max - ?)
both incredibly slow (i had x2 kicking sessions (lvl2) on my kicker when i started and from 10 it took 2 seasons to get to 13)
Level 3 - Ideal for newer clubs (max 18)
pops from 13 and below are noticeably quicker
Level 4 - The best (max - ?)
pops form 15 and below are really fast in comparison with level 3
Level 5 - Only for superstar training (max - 21)
Lower end pops are almost the same as level 4's, abit quicker, but then from 13 up there is a difference, on the down side the financial hit is also huge!

note: these are my own views, others may have different views..

And make sure you get the facility as well as the trainers... because a level 3 trainers working with a level 2 facility are only as good as level 2 trainers..

I agree with what Yaya wrote above.

One thing to note is that you dont want to upgrade past level 3 too soon, or you may cripple your club with wages and maintenance.

Level 3 is good and with dedication you can get U20 players with this. My player Merriman spent most of his training on level 3's.

Thanks guys, my training facilities are already being upgraded. I am just wary for now of the costs because I spent some money on buying a bit of experience for my squad and I fired a bunch of players to keep weekly wages down.

Would you advise me to get a youth scout now (for stars) or not yet?

I would recommend that you only get the youth scout and no other YA facilities at all. Build up stars for a season or two and then build up your YA when you have lvl 3 senior facilities.

This for me is the best value for money, but then as with everything else others may disagree.

I recruited a new junior player a couple of weeks ago and spend a lot of stars on him. Would it be better to bring him up to main team at age 17 or should I wait till he is 18 or 19?

My Junior coach is level 2 and I have level 4 senior trainers.

If you have the training sessions available to train him I would recommend promoting him as soon as he turns 17, then give him at least 9 or 10 sessions. You will have an excellent young player by the time he is 19/20.

However if you do not have any sessions available, leave him in your Y.A. and play him in every match until the week before his 20th birthday. That way you will at least get the most out of your academy training and IGT.

For me option one is always the best as first team training is far superior to that of even a lvl3 Y.A.
