PostSubject: The Playoffs   Sun Aug 07, 2011 11:54 pm

Well, after I initially thought I wouldn't play a human for playoffs qualification someone had subsequently joined the Zim community and had a club takeover so I ended up playing Uluwatu Stoppollution.

Managed to win 50-15 at home and now I have reached the playoffs. Any tips for this stage of the game? I do not know how many of the managers in my league are actually active because they do not seem to be showing much activity or squad improvement. Perhaps its just a fluke to make me think things will be easy?

On another note, no one is accepting friendly requests either. I am not being ridiculous in my requests either. I invite people who have similar strength squads to my own.

Your best bet with the friendlies is to join a friendly comp, or join the friendlies lounge and post there for a game.

As for the playoffs, remember the games are not at the usual league time, the semi final is on Wednesday, if I am not mistaken your energy loss for the playoffs are slightly lower than for the league, but there is also less time for your players to recover so keep that in mind.

Should you earn the right to a promotion game, your energy will be reset for that game, I might be mistaken though... I have not played in one of those for a while.

So if I win Wednesday's game my squad's energy levels will be reset?

No, I will drop lower than what it usually does, Wednesday is only the Semi final, Saturday is the final. Your energy will be reset on Tuesday of Week 16 should you have won your final and qualify for a promotion game, chances are you might auto promote.

If you want to know if a manager is active you can click on their name on their club lobby and from there check their latest signins. That way you can check if they will be playing the same tactics as in the previous match

Yes, thanks. I have been doing that. They all seem to have gone slightly dormant for about a week now.

Its quite possible that the people you have asked to play friendlies are one click managers, hence the lack of reply. My brother has just signed up, so his team will be similar strength to yours, therefore you could ask MK Komodo for a game.

Bloody XV failed to oust Marmalade on the final day, which I though was a surprise. Means I have Fatman in the semi final now.

A real big end of season ahead for me, so my boys will be run into the ground especially the next 7 days, just hope they can come through it all, especially the play offs.

Huge ask in our division to beat Dan-y-graig, so it is all about the battle for the places.

Wednesday night is going to see some of the best matchs ever seen in Zim, so it is exciting times ahead Smile

Looks like there were no shocks tonight, the home side winning the matches in each division 1 and 2 games.

Well I know one game that won't Sad

Dan-y-graig are far too strong for me to challenge and I expect them to gain promotion easily.

Div II .1 - I expect this to be tight, but Gnomes have two key injuries which I think will tip the game in Black Veez favour.

Div II .2 - Zimbabwe Warriors also have a key injury with Timerman out for the playoff final. This coupled with their poor energy levels, would probably mean that Nigel will take this match.

Div II .3 - DYG, see above.

Div II .4 - With a huge CSR and energy advantage, I am tipping Old But Gold to be too strong for Havoc's team.

If correct it would mean that Dan-y-graig and Black Veez would auto-promote, while the playoffs would be:

Hurricanes vs Norwich RFC - my tip is Hurricanes
Ashlands RUFC vs Old But Gold - my tip is Old But Gold

Anyone think it will be different?

I'm not sure Mark, I think that Zim Warriors have been strong all season, and my money would be on them.

Other than that can't argue

Zim Warriors have been strong all season but I knocked them out of the cup so they are def beatable. It looked to me without paying a lot of attention that they didn't rest players for the playoffs so might lose out on energy to Nigel.

Only possible upset I can see is Nigel beating George Pau. But that is mighty close ratings wise.

The other finals from div 1 to div 2 look relatively simple, maybe the Gnomes could cause some trouble.

This is interesting..

[i]One of the season 12 releases was a change to promotion. It is now done on ranking not on league points.

Check the promotion tables now cheers

I thought the promotion tables still stood but it was just who replaced who that was done by rankings
